About Loes
Growing up surrounded by forests, Loes developed a deep love for nature from an early age. As a child, she was always creating whether it was designing, crafting, building, or most of all, drawing and painting. At the age of nineteen, she began studying Fashion Design at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague.
After the Academy, life took a different turn. She became the proud mother of a beautiful daughter and built a career in another field. Yet the call of her artistic passion never truly faded. Following a series of wake-up calls, Loes decided to reconnect with her dreams. After a few detours, she ultimately found her way back to painting.
Today, Loes works as a professional artist from her home studio, nestled in a green oasis near The Hague. In the quiet of this inspiring space, she continues to explore, develop, and grow as an artist. Her studio is a place of reflection, discovery, and creative freedom.
Artist Statement
My creative process begins with trust in allowing what wishes to unfold to naturally appear. Guided by intuition, I combine different techniques until my inner world reveals itself on the canvas.
I work with mixed media such as ink, spray paint, acrylics, and collage, always finishing each piece with oil paint. Color plays a central role in my work. I believe it brings positivity, light, and joy, and I love exploring the harmony that arises when colors meet.
My subjects are often inspired by nature, flowers, or people, always emerging from an abstract foundation.
Through my art, I hope to touch something within you, to bring your dreams closer to the surface and encourage you to explore them. The first step may not bring answers right away but as you continue to follow your intuition and dreams, they begin to reveal their own meaning.
